Today I wanted to practice drawing storefronts and building facades — the kind of places I can happily stare at for far too long. There’s something magical about old shops: the hand-painted signs, the striped awnings, the warm mix of dark green and gold. ✨

This little French butcher shop (boucherie) feels like the kind of place that might have been on your street years ago — the display filled with fresh cuts and a cheerful sign that swayed in the breeze.
I’m fascinated by how every facade has its own story, its own personality. No two are the same, and that makes them incredibly fun to draw.
Next on my list:
☕️ a cozy café
🔧 a plumber’s workshop
🧺 and a laundromat
I’m turning this into a small series of everyday storefronts — the places that make a neighborhood feel alive.

Through the shop window, various cuts of meat are arranged on the counter, and a butcher stands behind them. Above the shop is a brick facade with a window and the house number 95.
